Thrilled and excited to take my first steps in China, launching this new work - "Dragon" - in the Collectibles and Limited Editions section of Design Shanghai.
Dragon is a chaise-longue with some remarkable and somewhat theatrical details:-
A cantilevered seat (with traditional archery longbow technology at its core) counterflexes - curling up like a scorpion tail - when loaded:
The seat back is formed by tight-lacing a leather "corset" onto an engineered timber and bronze frame:
I am pleased to say, it is causing quite a buzz at the show!
