Detail is important in my work.
But fine detail is not to be confused with perfection.
Before digital manufacturing, perfection was a goal achieved only by the most skilled and patient craftsmen.
Now, perfection is what happens when humans don't intervene: when we sit back and let technology do the work.
I strive for imperfection.
I celebrate those things that happen when humans get involved.
Error and decay are what lend character to inanimate objects.
So I value decadence.
